Photo Essay: The Exhausted Mother's Way of Blogging
Damn. I have all these funny stories to tell you, but no time to tell them. Keep reminding me, and I'll tell you about today's Egg Cracking Escapade, and also about the Cheese Slice Shenanigans, and really, don't let me forget about Project Poop or the Great Snack Lock-Up of 07. Classic Crazy Mama material, I tell you.

But, it is 10:30 and I must sneak in a first round of sleep to gear up for the lack of sleep that surely awaits me tonight. So for today, photos and captions. Yay!

Miss Delaney is growing so quickly. Above is a photo of her at one week, and below is a photo of her at one month. Filling out those 0-3 month onesies nicely, isn't she? Can you believe she's 6 weeks old tomorrow? *sniffle*

You can also tell from Picture 1 to Picture 2 that we purchased a new couch, the first real piece of furniture we've ever bought. I feel so grown up!

Oh, yes. Speaking of the new couch, please note that we upgraded to the New And Improved version...let me present The Illustrated Sofa. I'm sure Garrett would be more than happy to bring over his Crayola Twistables to customize YOUR living room furniture, if you wish:

(Yes, I spanked the living daylights out of him, put the markers away indefinitely, and thanks to the miracle fabric of this couch, it WIPED OFF WITH WATER.)

My precious little artist turns five years old tomorrow (again with the *sniffle*ing). We hosted his family birthday party last Saturday, and Donna will be pleased to know that around here, Birthday Party Time = Time to Dust the Furniture! (Now if I just have nine more children, I'll be dusting once a month!)

Overly large and annoying gifts were given by well meaning family members. Dr. Destructo has already broken the tent. It lasted approximately 19 hours. Great fun was had while it lasted.

Daddy also had himself a heck of a time with Garrett's new Robot Hand:

I made Garrett's cake, which he designed himself. He wanted a "world" cake, and apparently, when you are five, the "world" consists of "the wood store" (Lowe's), our house, the neighbors on each side of our house, the zoo, and Toys R Us.

The kids are surprisingly gentle with Delaney. Here, Garrett managed to elicit her newest trick - a gorgeous little smile. However, in true Big Brother fashion, he nearly took her head off with a plastic pirate sword just seconds after this photo was taken.

A nice way to end my lazy photo blog...the kids relaxing quietly together. Something I could use a LOT MORE OF these days.

I saw the new furniture when you pointed it out and said, "Yeah, new furniture!" Just after, I said, "DOH! The new furniture!" That's amazing that it wiped off with water. Sweet.

Happy Fifth Birthday Garrett!! I love the world cake.

I can't believe Garrett is FIVE!! That is when my teaching career began! WOW! Your kids are beautiful-just beautiful. I want to hold that baby!
Love the new couch. I am just in shock you didn't wait until Delaney was FIVE before you bought one. I want one made out of the same material and I don't have little ones. Awesome!
I am glad to hear the dust bunnies are out of the house for another year. hee hee

I so wish we had waited till AFTER children to purchase all our good furniture... perhaps cream wouldn't have seemed like such a great idea.

Delaney is so cute. What a blessed little baby to be so loved!

And the couch....thank goodness it came off! I would have had a mini-stroke if that happened.
