Fun At Home With Toddlers
I've been sending emails to a group of friends for a while now, titled "Fun at Home With Toddlers". They all seem amused at my daily dealings with my son G, 3-1/2, and my daughter L, 2. I have to say, most days ARE NOT amusing to me in any way...but seeing them in print is another matter. It has really helped me see the humor in the day to day myself.

I need to warn you, since you probably don't know me, I can lean toward the sarcastic side. I also can be a little obsessive and worry way too much. I worry about what everyone thinks of me. I make lists compulsively. My other main struggle these days is Project Baby Weight. Which leads me to...

Conversation with G and L, while sitting on the tub shaving my legs:

G - (singing and poking me in the behind) bottom, bottom, bottom - you're fat!
Me - G! How rude! You will make mommy cry (launch into lecture about not saying "fat")

Later in car...I've still not let it go that my 3 year old called me fat:

Me - G, why do you think I'm fat?
G - mmmm, probably 'cause you're big.
Me - G, who else do you know that is fat (hoping he'll say "Elmo", or something else to indicate he really has no idea what 'fat' means)
G - hmmm. Just you, mommy.
L - (2 year old who likes to chime in on end of every conversation)...just MOMMY!

Thanks kids.
