things hard to do / impossible to do with one hand
eating

brushing teeth

going to the bathroom

opening medication

um, typing

changing a dirty pull-up

peeling an orange

buttoning the kids pants

putting laura in her crib

putting my hair in a ponytail

writing a check

handwashing dishes - wooo!

doing laundry - double wooo!

it's amazing how many simple tasks become difficult when you can't use your dominant hand...this is a very interesting lesson in "appreciating what i've got"!!!

It probably wouldn't be much fun to clap at this point either. (You can shoot me now.)

When KJ was 15 months old I stepped on a dumbell left on the stairs (by the dumbell I'm married to) and broke my foot. Crutches and a baby? Not so much fun either.

You don't have to get the other hand done as well, do you?

I was going to ask exactly what lost a sock said: Do you have to have surgery on the other hand also? I feel your pain, I've had a cyst in one of my wrists for years, but I'm too chicken to do anything about it. Hang in there, you should be feeling better soon.

I hate trying to do pull ups with two hands, never mind only one. Good Luck!

Reminds of way back in high school when I had hooker-length acrylic nails and could never do up my own pants, nevermind anyone elses!

I was wondering about the bed thing. Also how about putting children in carseats?

And cooking! I'm assuming you can't cook, either, right?

Ok, I've never broken anything, so I don't really know how you feel, but it will not last long and that hand will be feeling soooo much better afterwards. Good luck, maybe hubby can help, at least when he's not at work anyway.

I need to keep up on my blog readings! Hope you are feeling better soon!

How long do you get out of doing dishes??

Good luck, hope you heal quickly!

I imagine that typing with one hand must be hard but not impossible. I struggle with typing with two good hands.

I hope that the wrist heals quickly. Take care, Stacey.

Hang in there! And here's to healing soon!

I hope that you guys didn't lose power with the winter storm.

I can only imagine...that must really be a pain. How long do you have to leave that brace/cast on? Hope you are all better soon.
