Reason #329 that I can't seem to get a post out every day
When I pondered becoming a mother, I was full of flowery ideals. I just figured that the sweet (quiet) baby would just slip right into our normal, everyday lives.

I seemed to be in denial of the fact that the BABY would one day be a TODDLER. And that TWO BABIES would someday be TWO TODDLERS.
First, I lost the ability to eat an entire meal without having to get up six times to retrieve SOMETHING for SOMEONE.

Next, going to the bathroom by myself (let alone with the door closed) went out the window. I can even do that little chore with a child on my lap, if necessary. Ah, dignity.

And now? The final straw. I have lost my computer time because someone (DADDY!!!!) thought it was a good idea to introduce said toddlers to pbskids.org:

Bah. How is THIS fair?

Yeah....you're kinds screwed. Fortunatly you can use this in the future as a valid reason for making you husband buy you a new laptop. Let's be honest. Once kids touch it....it's pretty much a done deal.

Yeah, I see a new computer in your near future.
I can't see the picture of G for some reason but L look so smart sitting there at the computer. Too cute!

Ha, I was wondering what happened to you. Kids and computers are like overly excited adults, lol. Luckily Brian and I have our own computers and the kids get limited time on them.

Take your laptop and ruuun!

KJ likes to play games too, but he quickly starts pressing buttons and doing things he shouldn't, so he's only allowed to play while on my lap.

We poor moms can't catch a break. Poor us. (It's just that kind of day, no?)

Just a thought....
why don't you buy a second hand computer...just for the kids...and you can re-claim yours!%

Oh I love what you said about toilet time. For some reason if you attempt to close the door they all go crazy. Like you will be sucked into the bowl.I never had that problem much. I was NEVER allowed to close the door. The only time I got mad was when the kids brought in my neighbor and her kids(3) all stood in the doorway and chatted like I was in the kitchen having coffee. I have given birth in front or 14 of my closest friends and family but even I had to draw the line on that. I take care of my grandson (2) every day. He never lets me pee alone either. And hey, since we are on the subject, does anyone else notice that moms get just a few seconds to do whatever it is we need to do in the bathroom, husbands can stay in there and read 'War And Peace".I don't like it in there enough to hang around that long even if I could.

It's crazy how early they start using and understanding computers. How in the world did WE manage to make it through our childhood without one!?!

On one hand it is a good thing, they will need to learn how to use them eventually and the sooner they learn the more they will know. And, PBSkids is a great website for kids their age. There is also a Disney preschool site (can't remember the web address) that would be good. My daughter loves to play the games on them.

Oh, and maybe you could find a nice used computer for them to use, cuz they are still young and what would you do if your's got broken???

My E actually says pbskidsdotorg. That's how hooked she is.

I agree, grab the computer and run! Or just buy yourself a nice shiny new one! This happens in my house too...totally NOT fair!

Go for a new one! J reprogramed mine. All the icons are all over the place and renamed. Bah. Gotta loves those kiddos. Tell them the internet is not working. Lies my dear...you need to know how to tell the kids lies. Kind of like the gummy switch at the Wal-Mart line. Come on girl...I know you can think of something. LOL. Does it make me an evil mamma for telling white lies to my children? I know I am setting a wonderful example. HA

Wait until the new one is two and Garrett is in school. You'll have no computer time at all. Saoirse loves cbckids.ca, just in case your two get bored with pbs.
